DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to let you know that\, following the completion of the Year 6 SATs\, the\nchildren will be going to Ropner Park\, on Friday 15th May\, for a well-earned celebratory\nvisit. This will be a lovely opportunity for them to relax\, enjoy some fresh air and spend\ntime together as a year group\, after working so hard.\nOn Friday 15th May\, the children can come to school wearing their PE kit. As we will be\nwalking to and from the park\, please make sure they have suitable footwear for walking\ncomfortably.\nThe weather can be changeable\, we kindly ask that children bring a sun hat and sun\ncream on warm days\, or a coat if the weather is cooler or unsettled.\nAs we will be out of school all day\, the children will need to bring a packed lunch. Please\nensure that packed lunches do not contain any nuts. We also ask that children do not\nbring fizzy drinks or glass bottles\, for safety reasons.\nWe are very much looking forward to sharing this enjoyable outing with the children\, and\nwe hope it will be a happy way to celebrate all their hard work.

It’s a fun way for everyone to get involved and show their support! \nWhy we’re taking part:  \n\nPupils learn valuable life skills and gain understanding and empathy for others in the world.\nIt’s a great way to get together for a giggle.\nOur school can really make a difference to people’s lives.\n\nVoluntary Donations will be collected to help fund Comic Relief’s vital work in the UK and around the world. DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 5th March\, we will be celebrating World Book Day in school. During the school day\, children will be taking part in a range of reading and book themed activities. On this day\, children will also receive their World Book Day token which can be redeemed in book shops and some supermarkets. The range of books included in this year’s offering are available to view at https://www.worldbookday.com/books/\nChildren are welcome to come to school dressed up as a book character or somebody with a literary connection. For this event\, there is no expectation for costumes which require a great deal of expense. It is also not compulsory\, and children are welcome to come to school in their usual uniform if they prefer.  Below are some ideas which are cost effective and often are items that children may already have at home:\n·         Princess/prince costumes (lots of these in story books!)\n·         Halloween costumes (Funny Bones\, Winnie the Witch\, Room on the Broom\, Mona the Vampire)\n·         Ballet costumes (Angelina Ballerina)\n·         Furry Onesie (Gruffalo\, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt\, Big Bad Wolf from Goldilocks)\n·         Tracey Beaker – stripy red jumper\, denim\, curly hair\n·         The Boy in The Dress – A dress and a football to carry\n·         Sophie from the BFG – Pyjamas\n·         101 Dalmations – white clothing with a marker pen to draw on the black spots\n·         Captain Underpants – underwear to wear over the top of trousers and a red cape\n·         Pippi Longstocking – plaits\, dungarees\, odd socks\nPlease remember that children will be outside for break and lunch – clothing should be suitable for outdoors including appropriate footwear.\nWe are looking forward to a fabulous World Book Day 2026!
